Hermanos Unidos
About
Hermanos Unidos is a Familia that was established in 1989 with one goal in mind: to retain and graduate Latinx students at Cal. However, we are welcoming to anyone on campus who wants to be part of our space. Since our beginning, we have expanded to 16 campuses across the state. The purpose of Hermanos Unidos is to become a better individual through a concept we call “El Nuevo Hombre/La Nueva Persona.” We try to achieve this vision by following three pillars: academic excellence, social networking, and community engagement. We offer academic assistance through our weekly study nights and academic and professional workshops. We expand our members’ social network through socials, the student org partnership program (SOPP), and by connecting with alumni. Lastly, we achieve our community engagement pillar by doing events such as our traditional brown bags, school tours, and donation drives. We strive to create a space where Latinx students and other communities can feel comfortable and safe while embracing our cultural backgrounds.
